Dental Implant Restoration

Dental Implants Shoreham

Dental implants are root replacements for missing teeth that were first developed over  half a century ago by a Swedish scientist named Per-Ingvar Branemark. Implants were first designed to help  secure loose-fitting dentures. Since the advent of the implant, engineering and scientific enhancements to the implant body have enabled dentists to expand the implant’s usefulness, including the replacement of lost or missing teeth. Today's implant techniques provide a wide range of tooth replacement options and solutions to our patients including:

  • Single Tooth Replacement
  • Multiple Tooth Replacement
  • Bridge Abutment
  • Partial Denture or Full Denture Anchor

Types of Implants

Todays advances in technology and research gives us many choices in size and attachment differences in implant restoration for our patients. The choice in implant design is determined based on patient need and is discussed with our office and the surgeon.

Post Implant Care

Proper oral hygiene is always needed for maintaining good dental health. It is important when a patient has received a dental implant that good oral hygiene practices are followed. Bacteria can attack all areas in the mouth when teeth, gums and implants are not properly cleaned. Patients are advised to visit their dentists at least twice a year, if not more, to ensure the health of their teeth, gums and implants. Dental implants can last a lifetime when given proper care.
